Anurag Pangeni Honored by Russian Embassy for Global Anti-Corruption Award

Kathmandu- The Russian Embassy in Kathmandu has honored 15-year-old Nepali student Anurag Pangeni for securing third place in the international social advertising competition “Youth Mend Society’s Cracks,” organized as part of the 2025 Anti-Corruption Social Advertising Contest.

Pangeni competed in the 10–15 years age group under the theme “Youth Mend Society’s Cracks.” His poster was recognized for delivering a powerful message promoting integrity, accountability, and social responsibility among young people. According to the Russian Embassy, his work represents a meaningful contribution to the global fight against corruption and serves as an inspiring example of youth-led civic engagement.

In the same age category, first place was awarded to Benaroussi Fatima Rawan (14) of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria for her poster titled “You are a flower waiting for tomorrow. Don’t water it with the poison of decay.” Second place went to Shohzhakhon Abdullaev (14) of the Republic of Uzbekistan for “Corruption steals the country’s time and future.”

Third place was shared by Sadia Jaffar (14) of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for “Corruption Shadows the Future” and Anurag Pangeni (15) of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal for “Youth Mend Society’s Cracks.”

During a special ceremony in Kathmandu, Minister Counselor Rinchen Rakshaev of the Russian Embassy presented Pangeni with a medal on behalf of the organizers and encouraged him to continue pursuing creative endeavors in the future. He noted that Pangeni’s anti-corruption poster stands as a source of inspiration for young people around the world.

Speaking after receiving the award, Pangeni said his artwork portrays Nepali society as a fragile glass structure fractured by corruption, symbolizing how unethical practices weaken the foundations of the nation. He expressed hope that his message would encourage greater awareness and collective responsibility in combating corruption.

Anurag’s parents were present at the ceremony, joined by officials from the Russian Embassy in Kathmandu.
